A metaverse is a virtual world. The term is often used to describe a future version of the Internet where persistent, shared virtual spaces are accessed through 3D or 2D interaction, including videoconferencing.
Another definition conceives the metaverse as the network of virtual worlds connected to the Internet, perceived through augmented reality.
